DIRA ("we", "us", "our") exists to connect Ethiopian women with jobs, income, skills, and community. That mission depends on your trust. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it — in plain language.

01Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run DIRA and Malaika:

02How we use it

03What we never do

We never sell your data. We never share your personal information with recruiters or employers without your explicit consent for a specific opportunity. Member stories are only ever published with the member's written permission.

04Sharing

We share personal information only: (a) with your consent — for example, introducing you to a DIRA Partner employer for a role you applied to; (b) with service providers who help us operate (such as messaging and hosting platforms), under confidentiality obligations; and (c) where required by Ethiopian law.

05Retention

We keep your information only as long as you are part of the DIRA community or as needed for the purposes above. If you leave Malaika or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our active records within 30 days, keeping only anonymised impact statistics.

06Your rights

You may at any time ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. Contact us at hello@dira.app and we will respond within 14 days. For more on how we safeguard data, see our Data Protection page.

07Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will announce it in Malaika and update the date at the top of this page before the change takes effect.
